Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment and test mechanical mechanisms and electronic circuitry for “root cause” failures.
  • Perform hands-on repair for malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment, and tests assembly for conformance, in accordance to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically, with some international travel, 25% of the time annually, to provide repair support to our Customers. This will include being away for up to a full week at a time as and when required
  • Provide the customer with phone and email recommendations to resolve lab instrument issues and or follow up with on-going issues with the customer. This may include, but is not limited to; sending replacement parts, referring the information to the main home office for further guidance, or performing an on-site resolution.

Requirements:

  • Recognized Electrical or Mechanical Qualification with apprenticeship and 5 years work experience
  • Work experience with technical equipment preferably in a laboratory setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent to read and interpret documents, instructions and manuals
  • Diplomacy and tact in reporting NCE (non conforming events) to management – with urgency
  • English is the required language – Foreign languages helpful
  • Highly proficient computer skills – Windows environment and Microsoft applications and relevant CRM systems

Testing Technician

We are looking for a Testing Technician. This position will perform the Acceptance Testing process to verify Testers were assembled correctly and will perform as intended. Troubleshoot and repair any issues encountered during the process and document NCE’s to continuously improve quality and reliability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform Acceptance Testing process approved by Product Engineer
  • Duties involve working from test procedures, specifications, mechanical and electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Prepare Testers for startup and test
  • Finish any wiring or assembly operations necessary before connecting power and water lines
  • Check manual operations and safety devices
  • Check for leaks and make necessary repairs
  • Check for wiring errors and make necessary repairs
  • Check for proper components, tags, and programming of Tester
  • Calibrate Testers to Q-Lab’s standards and preprogram customer’s cycles. Verify Testers are capable of performing cycles
  • Purge Tester of any accumulated water, bleed air / water lines, and remove any materials used during the testing process
  • Assign Tester serial numbers, review order documents, verify all line items on the Sales Order are complete
  • Document any unusual conditions and non-conformances encountered
  • Summarize and report issues encountered to Assembly, Quality, and R&D personnel
  • Ensure Acceptance Testing process is completed in a timely manner in order to maintain workflow and meet required ship dates
  • The Acceptance Testing Team will need to adopt a flexible work schedule to avoid production bottlenecks
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to improve quality & reliability.
  • Participate on continuous improvement teams
  • Maintain equipment used and work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other department related duties as required, assigned or directed

We Require:

  • Advanced mechanical and electrical skills
  • Functional understanding of the Testers and how the various subsystems relate
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents
  • Basic math skills. Basic Statistical skills (e.g. – averages, min value, max value, etc.)
  • Capability to perform mechanical and electrical assemblies
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years assembly background experience in mechanical and/or electrical assemblies and controls or equivalent
  • Use a variety of measuring instruments and gauges such as dial indicators, feeler gauges, pressure gauges, level, tape measure and volt meter, miscellaneous hand tools
  • Successfully meet all training requirements (e.g. – IPC/WHMA standards)
  • Working knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Good communication skills – ability to communicate findings both verbally and written to Assembly, Quality Control, and R&D Personnel
  • Must be able to communicate with Assembly Personnel in a constructive manner

We are currently looking for a Production Control Manager to coordinate and maintain production schedules in our Panel Production Department. This position will work closely with the production and sales teams to ensure quality products are delivered in a timely manner.

What you will be doing:

  • Create a daily panel production plan
  • Schedule the production of stock panels according to inventory requirements
  • Schedule the production of custom panels based on quoted shipment dates
  • Coordinate machinery availability and manpower with Panel Team Lead to meet production requirements
  • Manage the stock levels of standard panels
  • Coordinate container shipments with branch warehouses
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials; including coil and sheet stock at Q-Lab and supplier warehouses.
  • Coordinate outside processes, including: coil slitting, coil sheeting, chromate coating of coil and individual panels, paint coating of coil and individual panels, anodizing,
  • Be capable of attending outside processing of metals for quality purposes.

  • Assist in the dispositioning of non-conforming materials
  • Coordinate shipping / receiving logistics of metals

We are looking for a second-in-command to support Q-Lab’s worldwide user-base and information network. The IT Systems Administrator owns and drives server administration, support tickets, IT projects, and anything else that improves our users’ computing experience.

Reporting to the Network Systems Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for managing an international VPN data network with six locations around the world. We have approximately 225 internal users, 300 computers, and 40 servers.
This will be a hybrid role with 40% WFH.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and monitor server systems to keep availability high and performance consistent.
  • Respond promptly to end user technical support requests. Resolve issues effectively and efficiently so that users can be as productive as possible.
  • Solve complex workstation / server problems quickly and with expertise.
  • Work with vendors to purchase, implement, and maintain equipment and services.
  • Share knowledge and help other IT staff, accepting escalations as necessary.
  • Identify issue patterns, determine root cause, and implement fixes to improve overall reliability.
  • Works outside of normal business hours / on weekends as necessary to accomplish tasks that would be highly disruptive to operations, and to respond to emergencies.
  • Rarely (0-2x per year) travel to other Q-Lab offices.

Desired Experience and Skills:
