Q-Lab, a leader in accelerated weathering and corrosion test equipment and test services, is pleased to announce that Mr. Bill Tobin was recently appointed as Chair of the ASTM Standards Subcommittee G01.04 on Atmospheric and Aqueous Corrosion Environments.
This subcommittee covers standards related to evaluating atmospheric corrosion conditions as well as corrosion caused by immersion in seawater. Some key standards in this subcommittee include ASTM G50
Standard Practice for Conducting Atmospheric Corrosion Tests on Metals, G92 Standard Practice for Characterization of Atmospheric Test Sites, and G116 Standard Practice for Conducting Wire-on-Bolt Test for Atmospheric Galvanic Corrosion.
Bill is a Senior Technical Marketing Specialist in Weathering and Corrosion for Q-Lab. Over the past five years, Bill’s been involved in various aspects of weathering and corrosion, including round robin testing, presenting at technical conferences, and product troubleshooting. Bill is also involved in developing many weathering and corrosion standards as a member of ISO, ASTM, IEC, AATCC, and several other standards organizations.
