Q-Lab Corporation is a global leader in providing material durability testing products. Since 1956, we have designed and manufactured laboratory test products such as weathering testers, light stability testers and corrosion testers. We also perform contract test services for weathering and corrosion testing, including both laboratory and natural exposure tests. We maintain a global presence with testing facilities located in the US and sales and distribution facilities located in England, Germany and China. Our world-class corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Westlake, Ohio.
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering this position will design, build and test our prototype.
Due to the nature of the situation, this situation will be fully onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Own multiple engineering projects including new product developments, design improvements, and cost reductions
- Plan and manage project requirements, technical risks, deliverables, and timelines
- Design, build, and test prototypes to validate performance versus requirements
- Document work effectively (engineering reports, test instructions, engineering change notices)
Experience Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1 to 5 years professional experience in a product development and/or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in 3D design skills and design translation
- Project management experience
- Strong time management skills; ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Desired Skills:
- Experience in one or more core areas: mechanical design, rapid prototyping, sheet metal, injection molding, weldments, fiberglass, fabrication processes, heaters, motors, pumps, filtration, air handling, etc.
- Microsoft Inventor, Vault
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
