Q-Lab Corporation is a global leader in providing material durability testing products. Since 1956, we have designed and manufactured laboratory test products such as weathering testers, light stability testers and corrosion testers. We also perform contract test services for weathering and corrosion testing, including both laboratory and natural exposure tests. We maintain a global presence with testing facilities located in the US and sales and distribution facilities located in England, Germany and China. Our world-class corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Westlake, Ohio.

We are currently seeking a Field and Facilities Manager. This position is responsible for all field exposures at the Homestead, Florida site, including supervision of field personnel involved with exposures.

This role is fully onsite and involves significant time with outdoor work.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise all daily activities of the facilities, maintenance and field staff
• Ensure that the daily work tasks are completed efficiently
• Control field capacity and coordinate ordering of new exposure fixtures
• Arrange space consolidation and field layout — consolidate similar exposure types, same customer, etc. and to conserve space
• Coordinate rack maintenance and necessary replacement
• Oversee new exposures and mounting of difficult or special exposures; responsible for integrity of ongoing exposures
• Responsible for field checks being performed correctly and consistently
• Coordinate paper replacement on under glass boards
• Lead search for misplaced panels
• Supervise all specimen shipping and handling; supervise shipping & receiving department and act as back-up when necessary
• Plan and manage the activities of the Lawn Care Technician
• Hurricane Team Leader and supervisor of temporary laborers for field work as necessary
• Ensure testing completed in a timely and accurate manner
• Inventory, control, storage, and security of tools and exposure hardware
• Supervise repair and maintenance of power tools and field vehicles
• Other tasks as necessary

Requirements:

• Associate/Bachelor degree and/or 5-7 years of work experience in a related field. 
• Advanced knowledge and proven experience in general machine maintenance.
• Excellent supervisory skills and ability to coordinate large projects.
• Excellent knowledge of machine shop practice, including correct use of power tools.
• Knowledge of exposure practices and procedures and ASTM and other standards.
• Ability to interpret instructions and regulations.
• Patience and a high degree of interpersonal skills.
• Professionalism and ability to train and supervise others.
• Attention to detail.
• Creativity and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.
